I am a second-year Bioengineering PhD student working in Dr. Luke Lee's BioPOETS Lab at UC Berkeley. My research focuses on the integration of electronic and optical biomolecular sensors into microfluidic platforms for medical diagnostics and quantitative biology. A few buzzwords I often throw around include: BioMEMS (Biomedical Micro-electromechanical Systems), Microfluidics, Electrochemical Biosensors, Plasmonics, and Nanofabrication. I was born in Washington, NC, and I've been tinkering with electronics and computers since I was a wee lad. As an undergraduate at NC State University, I studied Electrical and Computer Engineering and did research in the areas of biomedical implants and molecular electronics. I also started the NCSU Underwater Robotics Club, now in its fourth year. In my spare time I leap from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong. |
